Sharpening Stones

A little public service announcement - Check your sharpening stones to be sure they are flat and true and in this case I should have checked when I purchased the sharpening stone.

Diamond embedded steel plate held on the wood block with double sided tape.

The wood block is actually nice and straight however the diamond plate well check the pictures.

Cactus Juice wood stabilizing

After a few years of trying out different wood stabilizing products I have chosen Cactus Juice products from Turntex Woodworks for my own use and have made their product line available on my web site http://canadian-artisan.com/wood-stabilizing-knife-making/

The product works well and the owner of Turntex is the original developer of the product line, that along with very good customer service sealed the deal for me.

So far I have not been able to test drive a chamber as they get sold faster than I get them in but there is hope I will get a Christmas present.

The Turntex line of liquid dyes was created just for Cactus Juice and the colors are amazing. Some day I will remember to take a picture before the knife goes off to the customer until then I have a few small pictures as teasers.

For those who want too make their own tools check out my friends Blog on knife making http://dcknives.blogspot.com/

Needing a break from other projects so I have been making leather Valet trays using Maker's Leather Supply Templates and pattern rubs.

Easy to do and was an excuse to try out some products I sell online.

New retail page

After many struggles with a certain provider about my business name and what I sell I decided to make a site more user friendly.

All the good stuff will be under "Cutlery" a less offensive word than knife.

http://canadian-artisan.com/cutlery-supplies/

Soon to be offered will be sheath making kits with a few options, this way you only have to buy what you need. Great for people with little extra room.

Please visit my site Please ...LOL .

Came to the realization I do not have a company logo. Sounds like another project.
